9/11 Remembrance Honors Cmdr. Dan Shanower and Other Heroes
Ten years after 9/11, Naperville remembers the sacrifices that were made that day.
The Cmdr. Dan Shanower - 9/11 Memorial overflowed with American flags and members of the community on Sunday as they gathered to commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Although the memory is tragic, a message of hope and inspiration encouraged the attending crowds. The ceremony included the as well as members the and departments. Retired Rear Adm. Robert Porterfield gave the keynote speech in remembrance of Cmdr. Dan Shanower, a Naperville native who died in the attack on the Pentagon.
