The ballots are in, and the winners have been selected in Classic Cinemas annual “Predict the Oscars” contest. North Aurora resident Dawn Kappel, who cast her ballot at Ogden 6 Theatre at 1227 East Ogden Avenue, will receive a one-year movie pass and a pair of tickets to the Brookfield Zoo.

After seeing a majority of the Oscar-nominated films, Kappel explained that only one particular film stood out the most, “I liked most of the nominees this year, but my favorite was The Fighter. The acting was tremendous!”

This year, 5,605 ballots were cast in predicting the Oscar winners in seven categories: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Animated Film.

Each Classic Cinemas theatre selected one first-place winner from the correct ballots entered at that location. The remaining correct ballots entered at the Ogden 6 Theatre will receive a pair of movie passes to any Classic Cinemas location and a pair of tickets to the Brookfield Zoo.
