Guests Got on Board to Celebrate the New Year at DuPage Children's Museum’s Bubble Bash 2011
Members and visitors got on board for DuPage Children's Museum’s train-themed Bubble Bash 2011 All Aboard! Next Stop 2012. The event featured live music, themed activities, light refreshments and a countdown to noon led by Naperville Mayor A. George Pradel.
“This year’s event was a great success,” said Alison Segebarth, DuPage Children's Museum Director of Marketing and Membership. “We received a lot of positive feedback from attendees throughout the morning, and when bubbles filled the air after the countdown, the joy on the faces of both children and adults was contagious.”
Award-winning musicians The Boogers rocked and rolled in the New Year with original hits as well as classic children’s songs with a twist. Incorporating elements of punk rock, this band of talented musicians had toes tapping, hands shaking and children and adults dancing to the beat.
Children created train-themed hats, such as a conductor or engineer, and train noisemakers used during the New Year’s countdown celebration. In addition to everyone enjoying the Museum’s three floors of exhibits, family photographs were taken in front of a commemorative Bubble Bash backdrop.
“Bubble Bash is an event our members and visitors look forward to every year. In the rush of the holiday season, it is important to take time out to enjoy family, celebrate the year behind you and look forward to the year ahead,” said Sue Broad, DuPage Children's Museum President and CEO.
This year’s Bubble Bash theme tied in with the Museum’s latest exhibit, which opened in September 2011. Trains – Get on board! allows kids and adults to discover the wonder of train transportation by exploring exhibit stations that incorporate art-, math- and science-based learning opportunities; role playing activities and model trains.
