From Naperville School District 203

Naperville Community Unit School District 203 announces plans to appoint Chuck Freundt to the position of principal of Beebe Elementary School effective July 1, 2011.

Freundt has been the principal of Meadow Glens Elementary School for the past five years where he has distinguished himself as a highly effective educator and community builder. Freundt began his career in District 203 as an elementary teacher. Prior to assuming the position of principal at Meadow Glens, Freundt served as assistant principal at Beebe for three years.

“Freundt’s administrative experiences and familiarity with the Beebe community will be tremendous assets,” said Dr. Melanie Raczkiewicz, Chief Operating Officer for District 203.

The announcement was made following notification from Beebe principal Elizabeth Martinez that she has chosen not to renew her contract, which ends June 30, 2011, in order to focus on her family. Martinez has been the principal at Beebe Elementary for two years.

Superintendent of Schools, Mark Mitrovich stated “We thank Elizabeth for her dedicated service to the Beebe community and for her strong advocacy on behalf of all children, especially those who are most at risk.”

While the transition will not take place until July 1, District officials chose to announce this appointment in order to begin a search for top candidates to fill the principal position at Meadow Glens.

“We want to provide adequate time to seek out and be sought by top educators who are interested in this position,” added Raczkiewicz.

Naperville Community Unit School District is comprised of 22 schools and serves approximately 18,000 students annually.
